Melbourne electronic artist Shiver Canyon launched her self-titled debut EP at the Grace Darling on Thursday March 23rd, 2017. Supports include female contemporaries Aphir, Emah Fox and Liana Pearl & the Perola's.
Fronted by Melbourne-based vocalist/composer Roni Shewan, Shiver Canyon has been compared to a diverse range of musicians including Kate Bush, Radiohead and Massive Attack. Her original compositions blend trip-hop, ambient, dream-pop, rock, and jazz, with thought provoking lyrical content exploring history, femininity, desire, mental illness and the avant-garde.
Aided by Roni’s powerful, jazz infused vocals, Shiver Canyon has impressed audiences with an audio-visual, dynamic and evocative live show. She has shared the stage with some of the country’s finest performers, including Aluka, The General Assembly, Whitaker and Closure in Moscow.
Co-produced by Red Black (A State of Flux, Sleep Parade) and Roni Shewan, Shiver Canyon's debut is an ambitious blend of acoustic and electronic elements, with subtle instrumentation, East-Asian percussion and sophisticated vocal layering.
